Japanese AI Podcast Scripts: Dates, Acronyms and Place Names
Write Japanese dates and abbreviations for the ear, and confirm ambiguous place names before generation. Preserve the original values and test candidate readings in context; spelling changes do not guarantee pronunciation.
What makes a slide label hard to hear?
A slide can rely on position, compact labels and an audience looking at a chart. An audio listener has none of those cues. Take this invented label: “7/8 15:00 KPI達成率12.5% 日本橋”. It leaves the date convention, meaning of KPI and location unclear. Before writing a spoken version, confirm each item with the source owner. Do not turn a label into a confident story by guessing the missing details.
How do you write the date and figure for speech?
If the source confirms July 8, 3 pm, and a target-attainment rate, a candidate is:
七月八日、午後三時の時点で、目標達成率は十二点五パーセントです。
For a difficult reading, test a candidate such as “しちがつようか” in the spoken script while preserving “7月8日” in the review note. “達成率” describes an attainment rate; it does not say the value grew by 12.5%. Add a year or time zone if the listener needs it. Explain an acronym at first use with the source’s actual definition, then use the short form only if it helps.
Can the system infer the reading of 日本橋?
Do not rely on it. Confirm whether the source means the Tokyo place commonly read “にほんばし” or the Osaka place read “にっぽんばし”, or another use. People and organization names may also have preferred readings. Ask rather than changing a name to whichever spelling sounds familiar. A glossary can live in your editorial notes without inserting an explanation into every spoken sentence.
What should you check in the finished dialogue?
Let one host explain the figure and the other ask what it measures. Keep sentence endings consistent with the audience and avoid unnecessarily formal written constructions. DIALØGUE uses Fish Audio for speech; retain intentional [bracketed] delivery cues. Compare the result with the approved script for dates, numbers and names. If you cannot judge Japanese, ask a fluent listener before publication. This is a text-preparation example, not a tested pronunciation result or a promise of a phoneme-control feature.
Prepare slides as source material and review a script. Export or prepare the source in a supported format; this guide does not promise direct PowerPoint upload.
The worked examples are synthetic editorial examples, not a vendor benchmark or measured pronunciation result. Verify the generated audio before sharing.
